Personal Statement of Purpose for entering into a Graduate Divinity Program (M.DIV.)
To date I have led a life that has been prosperous, decorated with commendations, bestrewed with opportunities, bringing me a lifestyle and opportunities few will ever know. I cannot go forward in this life, though. Recent events brought my world to a standstill, emotionally and psychologically - even physically. As a misguided ***** attempted to manipulate ***** in the hopes of tearing my ***** from my life, I saw with screaming clarity what truly mattered in my life. I reassessed everything, my life, my contributions, my legacy, and finally saw what God had been trying to show me for so many years. Do not copy our samples.
There are simply no coincidences in our lives, only God's indications of our life's truest path. And yet, even as I willingly, lovingly have given years of my time, energy and creativity to volunteerism, I did not see God's path for me. So often we are focused on the moment, it is at the detriment of the overall goal. My calling has always been there. I simply did not believe I could offer myself to the ministry, to God completely, that such an idea was audacious, that in some way I was not worthy of the mantle. Hours of contemplation and prayer have convinced me otherwise, and I am truly confident of my next step, to bring the spiritual message of Christ's Gospel to a diverse, multicultural, pluralistic world.
Confirming the belief in myself, Professor and Director of Interfaith at *****, ***** *****has been instrumental in advising me while I sorted through the threads of my convictions. Prof. ***** took the tangled threads from my hands, showing me that in all likelihood my calling was real. We examined the evidence from my life, when exactly were the times in which I gained the greatest personal and spiritual satisfaction, and found that it was not the accolades from professional work, but the times in which I gave of myself, my heartfelt compassion to aid in the amelioration of lives in a score of countries and philanthropic agencies spread across ***** continents. Our Samples are viewed hundreds of times per day!
Through the guidance of ***** Divinity School at *****, I seek a focus for my studies, particularly research into the areas of theology that embrace the arts and humanities. Moreover, I seek a greater depth of understanding of the concepts of forgiveness, reconciliation, and how this can be applied to domestic abuse issues. Additionally, the stewardship of the earth is of particular interest to me, specifically the issues of our dwindling resources and fragile environmental issues.
Completing the M.DIV. Program will allow me to bring a number of my goals to fruition, namely bringing my talents and passion to the Ministry and serving God. I envision aiding the Church through my written and visual communications, addressing such issues as the world's natural environment, and domestic abuse issues. It is my belief that the Church has an integral role to play in guiding the world in regards to the care of the earth, her resources and large-scale environmental consciousness.Anti plagiarism software utilized by schools, employers, program directors, and businesses are ALL fully aware of our samples!
What is more, through a greater understanding of the Gospels, theological studies, and communication within a world besotted with media, I feel the interfaith - the embracing - of Christian and Muslim religions and communities, will bring about a greater understanding of spirituality and the human condition here on earth. We so frequently fail to examine or consider what it means to be alive and here on earth right now and what our purpose truly is; what greater things burn within us. In truth, I also feel that the M.DIV. Program will help me in the raising of my beloved *****, to be a good role model, teacher - and most importantly, *****.
I bring with me to ***** Divinity School a myriad of experiences as a highly successful creative and effective communicator in *****, *****, writing and teaching, gifts that I am certain would be of great value to the Church. Quality education was always of the utmost import to me, and to this end, I have successfully completed programs and taught within some of the world's finest institutions; ***** Divinity will only perpetuate this commitment to the ideal. Do Not Plagiarize.
Living, working and being educated around the globe enabled me to not only develop my aptitude in foreign languages, but also maintain an active volunteer career. It was through my volunteerism that I was able to refine my cultural competency, my ability to communicate effectively with people of differing cultures, creeds, and socioeconomic status. Indeed, my worldview has been forever altered by my experiences. My appreciation of earth's amazing tapestry of people, ethnicities and customs will aid me in my work.
***** Divinity School represents the gateway from which I will be able to serve God's ministry. I freely give all that I am to His service, and am thankful to Prof. *****, the admissions committee, and the ***** diocese for their encouragement and guidance. I look forward to the opportunity and challenge to grow and develop in creativity as an exceptional leader for effective Christian ministry. God will be my guide, my feet placed on the pathway which Jesus Christ has laid before me, bringing his message to all of true liberation and salvation.
I thank you most humbly for your time and consideration.
