Personal Statement for the purposes of entering into a Ph.D.-level program of study with the Department of Literacy, Culture, and Language Education

An academic relationship with the Department of Literacy, Culture and Language Education will enable me to achieve my goals of refining the course structure and syllabi of the English Department of ***** University in [North African Country]. [North African Country] is my homeland, a place where I have been exposed to many languages with many differing dialects. Growing up, traveling, being educated, and educating others in this culturally-diverse environment, I have become conversant in, and able to read and write three languages, including *******.Do not copy our samples.

I anticipate executing research in the areas of semantics, and sociolinguistics, as well as morphology, particularly between ***** and English morphemes, and syntax in terms of the relations between discourse and the emergence of syntax under the heading of discourse analysis. No other school can offer me such a comprehensive and current regimen of linguistic theories coupled with in-depth analysis of English education, foreign and second-language education. In addition to this, the Department of Literacy, Culture and Language Education promises to aid in the refinement of my existing leadership skills in the areas of curriculum development, and directing educational programs.

It is my aim to become a professor at **** University, researching different aspects of English; how it is learned and taught. It is my intention to inject my own unique hypotheses about how language should be studied and the process by which such research aught to be conducted.
